well, I’m paying for this.

Yesterday I noticed the auto-debit in my account for this blog. Oops, oh yes Sarah, you’re still paying for this platform. (I’ve changed that setting now. Fool me once.) So…that said. I’m paying for this so I might as well use it.

I can’t wrap my head around long posts right now. It’s not that I don’t have anything to say, it’s that I don’t have the time and patience to write it. Some things are probably best left in my head anyway. As such, I think I’m going to turn this into a quasi-micro blogging. I’ll every so often give you a sprinkling of the thought confetti in my mind.

For my first little post, an update on my eye. In January I had my followup with the specialist. While the doctor is very nice, he didn’t tell me news I wanted to hear. Based on the scans, my cornea is very, very thin. Too thin to really do anything with. The only outlet left to me to really see (and see clearly again), is a cornea transplant. Yesterday I saw my primary ophthalmologist. He fit my bad eye with a special lens, but I had no idea my insurance was so bad. It would have cost me $1,400 out of pocket. I definitely didn’t expect that, nor did I budget for it. Just the fitting itself cost $700. AND IT IS ONLY GOOD FOR A YEAR! I’m sure I’ll have to pay some of that fee, but I’m hoping they will discount it as I’m not actually going to get the lens. It makes me sad, but I’ll budget for it next year and we will go from there.

And with that…I just keep chugging along!
